For my thesis project, I decided to reconnect to my original process of making. Before design school, I was apprenticing to be a woodworker. Since then, I have endured four long years of digital making on the computer as a graphic designer. The growing attachment to computers caused a realization that I was losing my connection with the tactile and the physical making process. I set out to document myself building a wood bench. With the guidance from my father and woodworking mentor, I attempted to reconnect to my physical making in hopes to relate to my life as a designer.
