I have created a series of three prints based on my three different dreams. The research I am doing is mostly in the field of Psychology. I am looking into the function of dreams instead of the analysis of dreams for understanding the unconscious mind because I am interested in the question of why we dream. Through creating the works, I gained knowledge of myself and about the function and biology of dreams, especially about the idea that dreams can be a tool for problem solving. Most important to me, however, is that dreams are one of the beautiful things in the world because of their fragile existence in reality—one’s waking life; that fragility inherently makes them mysterious.
Printmaking, as a medium, allows me to share my own dreams with others and is especially helpful and supportive to communicate my idea to wider audiences. Through the multiplicity of Printmaking, I am able to distribute my works to larger audiences which allows me to have a greater opportunity to share them with others.
