Edgar Arceneaux

Graduate Visiting Artist Lecture Series 2012

February 24, 2012

Multidisciplinary artist Edgar Arceneaux visits PNCA and the MFA in Visual Studies as part of the 2011-2012 Graduate Visiting Artist Lecture Series.

Los Angeles-based artist Edgar Arceneaux’s conceptual program uncovers meaning in unexpected adjacencies of past and present and of history and memory. He uses drawing, photography, sculpture and filmmaking for the unorthodox installation scenarios he has developed and refined over the last decade. His work resists simple explanations, creating sets of relationships that aren’t easily resolved as a way of wrestling with randomness.
