Resolving Chaos: Honour Mack

July 2, 2015 - August 8, 2015

Visiting faculty for the Low-Residency MFA in Visual Studies, Honour Mack presents Resolving Chaos, an exhibition of recent abstract paintings and drawings that ask questions that address the confluence of belief systems, the role of spirituality in art, and the possibility of creating a transcendent object.

Her recent paintings and drawings are inspired by the intersection of early esoteric philosophies, and early advances in the sciences, when the mysteries of creation and existence were possibly more illusive than they are now. The documents that the artists and scientists left behind offer up a fresh sense that, magic and mystery are real, and the results of their experiments can inspire our own curiosity and sense of awe.
