Empathy in the Internet Age: The Effects of Social Media on Our Cultural Identity

DVST Magazine is the result of the long running curation by artist Sean Sullivan on his website The images in the magazine have been selected from the blog because of their potency and subtle narrative qualities, which guide the viewer through the magazine. The goal of the magazine is to reflect the cultural identity, and aesthetic landscape, of the artist. The images are dark and provocative in nature which is reflects the darker aspects of the modern existence, and causes the viewer to reflect on their feelings towards the images, and their own cultural identity. The magazine employs a didactic, quasi linear narrative through intentional juxtapositions to convey meaning and purpose throughout the magazine.
