A treatise on individualism in the modern world, this thesis focuses on the struggle against media’s monopolization of thought and culture. With the ever apparent entity of marketing within daily life, our culture is under the constant influence and scrutiny of advertising agencies and various other media interests. A commodified culture, available only to those who can afford it, threatens to drive individuals farther and farther from social interaction, interpersonal communication, and the ability to think both critically and independently.
